Awkward Interview of the Month by Dave Reiner Monday, November 9, 2009 If you happened to catch cnbc the other day when Maria Bartiromo was interviewing Paul Volcker it was pretty strange to say the least. Volcker was noticeably uncomfortable and when asked if the Obama administration was listening to him and taking his advice, he began to squirm in his chair while making an incoherent comment about Maria’s purple dress. It seems Mr. Volcker is somewhat uneasy about his affiliation with the Obama administration as one of their economic advisers. After all, its Volcker who saved the economy in the early 80’s by crushing inflation and rescuing the U.S. dollar through a tight monetary policy, the exact opposite of what the Fed is doing now.
